June couldn't revive Europe

Production in construction sector fell by 1.8% in the euro area and by 1.3% in the European Union in June compared to the previous month, according to seasonally adjusted data from Eurostat.

According to revised data for May production rose by 0.1% in the euro area and remained unchanged in the EU.

Compared to June 2010 construction in June this year decreased by 11.3% in the euro area and by 8.1% in the 27 EU member states.

On a monthly basis among the countries for which data are available for June, construction decreased in seven and increased in six. The largest decreases were registered in Slovenia (-11.9%), Hungary (-5.5%) and Germany (-4.5%) and the strongest increases - in the UK (3.8%) Slovakia (+2%) and Portugal (+1.7%).

Building construction decreased by 1% in the euro area and by 1.4% in the EU, while civil decreased by 2.7% and 0.8% respectively.

Yoy construction collapses in ten countries and increased in four. The largest falls were recorded in Spain (-43.7%), Slovenia (-35.9%), Hungary (-13.9%) and Romania, but most production is increased in Poland (16.2 %), Sweden (4.5%), Germany (2.6%) and Netherlands (2.3%).

Building construction decreased by 12.5% ​​in the Eurozone and by 9.7% in the EU and civil decreased by 4.5% in the euro area but rose by 0.6% in the European Union as a whole.

About Bulgaria is reported monthly decrease of 0.5% and a decrease of 2.6% annually.
